In practically every case, our  demonized clientele who were active church members  were never saved in the first place.  A major reason has been because of the church practice of the altar call, aka, invitation to Christian discipleship, make a decision for Christ by coming to the altar.  The repetition of a sinner's prayer is also a culprit, not only from the altar but in Christian witnessing and discipleship, as they passed out tracts upon which a sinner's prayer was printed.
